App of the Week Facebook Groups

Facebook Groups is a useful feature of Facebook which, sadly, only a few people actually use. That’s because it’s buried deep within the main Facebook app. However, all that is set to change now as Facebook has just launched a standalone Facebook Groups app today.

Facebook is not a new player to releasing standalone apps. It launched the Facebook Messenger app a while back to great success and hopes to continue that with the Facebook Groups app. This app lets the user manage their friends and groups much more effectively without the hassle of combing through the main Facebook app to access them.

When you first open the new app, you will be welcomed by the home screen that will list all your groups with the most frequently used groups on the top. Right on top, you will see the option to create a new group. You will also get to track your notifications and also control the notifications that you get.

A unique thing about the new app is the discover feature which suggests groups amongst your friends. It does this by comparing things that you have in common. This is a great way to know more about your friends and get back in touch with some old friends to whom you haven’t spoken to in a while.

The app will help you micro share to specific friend lists and would create a new space to spend time in between the news feed and private messaging.

Try the more organized, quicker to access and mobile friendly app on your Android KitkKat powered Lava smartphones,
