How to Use Your Lava Smartphone as a Mobile Hotspot

wifi

We all have been in a situation where either our data card stopped working suddenly or our broadband service malfunctioned because it rained cats and dogs a day before. Ultimately, it was our smartphone, which we were left with as the only source of connection to the web.

What comes in handy at such times, is turning it into a Wi-Fi hotspot. The hotspot feature allows you to connect other Wi-Fi enabled devices which require access to the internet. So, here are illustrating steps which will help you turn your Lava Smartphones into a Wi-Fi hotspot.

1. Settings

Go to the settings option on your phone where you will find different tabs for organizing multiple functionalities of your smartphone. Under the General tab you will find labels that basically allow you to manage your data cards, data service network and other connections. Just scroll down to the Wireless & Networks label which guides you through multiple wireless connectivity options.

2. More & More

Selecting the option ‘More’ in the Wireless &Networks label will direct you through various features which allow you to control and maintain data usage and cellular networks. Among these features, there is an option of creating ‘Tethering & Portable Hotspot’ after you input all the authentication and authorization details for your Wi-Fi hotspot connection.

2.      3.

3. Set up your Wi-Fi Hotspot

This is the key setting option where you can set up and manage your Wi-Fi Hotspot. Just tap on ‘set up Wi-Fi hotspot’ and you will be required to provide the inputs for your hotspot name and its password. Make sure that type of security is selected as WPA2 PSK which basically means that your hotspot connection will be password protected with a pre-shared key to be entered for authentication.

4.      5.

  1. Add or Block Users

Once you are done with setting up the hotspot on your smartphone, you can allow users to access it after they provide the required password. However, you can block a user, once connected, by tapping ‘block’ option presented next to the connected user id.

6.

With Lava, it’s quite easy to connect any of your gadgets and devices to its hotspot connection with an efficient broadcasting feature.
